Kim Hammar is a postdoctoral researcher at Imperial College London. His main research interest is automatic control and management of networked systems. He received his Ph.D. from KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
Extended biography
Kim Hammar is a postdoctoral researcher at Imperial College London. His main research interest is automatic control and management of networked systems. Previously he has been a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Melbourne, a visiting scholar at Arizona State University, a visiting professor at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University, and a Ph.D. student at KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
Before starting his Ph.D., he worked as a Research Engineer at Hopsworks, as a Data Analytics Engineer at Allstate in Chicago, as a network operator at Tele2, as a research intern at Ericsson, and as a research engineer at MIC Nordic. He graduated with an M.Sc. degree in distributed systems from KTH in 2018 with a GPA of 5/5.
He was the recipient of the best demonstration paper award at IEEE NOMS in 2022. He was the recipient of the VR International Postdoctoral Fellowship 2025. He was selected as a rising star in cyberphysical systems security by the IEEE control systems society in 2026. He is an associate editor for the IEEE Transactions on Network and Service Management. He is a TPC member of ACSAC, GameSec, GraSec, and AAAI.
